Fannie Lou Hamer for Black Voters Matter

We made this giant Voting Rights quilt for LaTosha Brown – co-founder of Black Voters Matter – to take on their big black bus around the South. The quilt was sewn in Nevada by several of us, and quilted in Alberta, Alabama by Fannie Etheridge and Patti Irbi, in Fannie’s workshop.

Fannie Lou Hamer, voting rights shero, was painted by Nancy Raven. She is surrounded by quilt blocks designed and utilized by the Underground Railroad to help and direct escapees.
We were so excited to deliver it to LaTosha Brown in Selma, Alabama!
